One mistake can finish every thing

One mistake can finish every thing

Moses was faithful to God. God used him in wonderful way. It was he who got the name like God to Pharaoh. Bible, Exodus 7:1 prophesied – Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh. In Hebrew song 430 he was called with the name of e – lo – him.

In Bible, Numbers 12:7 God said concerning Moses, “My servant Moses is faithful in all My household” . It was Moses who brought 10 plagues and the Pharaoh’s opposition; he led the Israelite out of Egypt.

To overcome Moses’ fear, God recruited his brother Aaron to assist, promising to help them both. Moses rose to the challenge. When trapped between the Pharaoh—who’d changed his mind and pursued the newly freed slaves—and the Red Sea, Moses told the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today” (Exodus 14:13).

He also prophesied, “The Egyptians you see today you will never see again…” (Bible, Exodus 14:13), and he was right. Moses led them through the Red Sea on dry ground by the power of the God. That was just the beginning of Moses’ courageous leadership.

Moses was very close with God. The job God called Moses to do was full of difficulties and challenges. Moses never hid his emotions and questions from God. They spent 40 days together on top of Mount Sinai and God gave Moses “…the two tablets of the covenant law, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God”(Bible, Exodus 31:18).
It was not through Moses’s first forty years of training in the palace and the military academies of Egypt that he became a spiritual leader. No. It was through God breaking the strength of his ‘Self’, when Moses spent the next forty years looking after sheep in the wilderness. At the age of next forty years, with his confidence in his own abilities shattered, Moses could lean upon God and become the deliverer of God’s people. In the construction of the tabernacle in the wilderness, we read one phrase repeated eighteen times in Exodus chapters 39 and 40- the phrase, “just as the Lord had commanded Moses”. The pattern of the tabernacle given by the Lord was a very simple and modest-looking affair. It was a far cry from the fantastic pyramids that Moses had seen built in Egypt. If Moses had been given the plan of the tabernacle at the age of 40, when the strength of his ‘Self’ was in full bloom, he would certainly have modified it and made it look more attractive.
God tested Moses when he made the tabernacle to see whether he would make it exactly according to the pattern that he had received on the mount. The glory of the Lord coming on that tabernacle was the visible indication of God’s satisfaction with Moses’ work.
For 40 years Moses led the Israelite s, and God kept His promise to always be with him. Even when Moses messed up, due to his anger, which disallowed him from entering the promised land. The Bible says Moses “whom the LORD knew face to face”(Deuteronomy 34:10).
God was with Moses to the very end, burying him in secret. Moses lived to be 120 years old and was completely healthy. “…his eyes were not weak, nor his strength gone”(Deuteronomy 34:7).
Now question is – what mistake was committed by Moses for them he had to die ? Do you know ?
Moses committed only one mistake. God instructed him – Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink (Bible, Numbers 20:8). But he did not followed Him. He did opposite to the God’s will.

Bible, Numbers 20:11-12 prophesied – Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank.
But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, Because you did not trust in Me enough to honor Me as holy in the sight of the Israelite s, you will not bring this community into the land I give them.

God became angry with Moses and He told him – you did not trust in Me, you did not honor Me as holy in the sight of the Israelite s.
What mistake Aaron committed so that he could heard the same thing as Moses heard by God ?

As Moses went to make the tabernacle, it took time. Meanwhile, the people got tired of waiting for Moses. They went to Moses’s brother Aaron and made an idol, and started worshiping it.

Now question is – Who was Aaron and why people followed Moses’s brother Aaron ? Moses’s brother Aaron was the mouth of Moses. Bible, Exodus 4:16 prophesied God said – He will speak to the people for you (Moses), and it will be as if he were your mouth (Moses’s mouth), and as if you were God to him.

In the absent of Moses, Aaron committed mistake.

Bible, Exodus 32:1 prophesied – When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, “Come, make us gods[a] who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.”

Bible, Exodus 32:4 prophesied – He (Aaron) took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf, fashioning it with a tool. Then they said, “These are your gods,[a] Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.”

Moses asked Aaron – why you put the people into a great sin? What did these people do to you ? Bible, Exodus 32:4 prophesied Moses said to Aaron,“What did these people do to you, that you led them into such great sin?”

Aaron can stop them to make another god and he can command them to wait until the Moses arrives; but he did not do so and he put 6 Lakhs people into sin. This made God angry, and He offered to kill them all. “And Moses the servant of the LORD died there in Moab, as the LORD had said. He buried him in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is”(Deuteronomy 34: 5-6). It’s speculated that God secretly buried Moses body so the Israelite s couldn’t make a shrine to it, worshiping it as an idol.
God has given a difficult task for us to save the people from To-days Aaron and to take lesion from the mistake of Moses, the most responsible man and faithful to Lord. It was he who had leaded 6 Lakhs people.
God has arranged the people’s circumstances so that they could see them self-seeking spirit. Why ? Because they could judge themselves and cleanse themselves from it.
