Two Urgent Responsibilities We Need to Embrace Before Judgement Day: How to Love God
Have you ever thought about God’s Judgment Day? What will He do? Whom will He Judge?
In this regard, no person has complete knowledge. Does anyone know the cause of Judgement? All of you live your life according to the preacher who shows you the path. I will talk to you on two factors which are responsible for Judgement.
John testified that God said: Love your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the most important command. And second, that you should love your neighbor as yourself. These two commandments are the basis of all law and prophets (Matthew 22:37-40).
People are only taught that one has to love God and man. Your preacher or Guru has taught you to walk towards Lord and man. But God says that you should love each other as I loved you. John testified that God said – My command is that you should love one another as I loved you (Bible, John 15:12).
So, the confusion today is Love towards God and Love towards man are not equal.
You should first Love God; and because God loved you, love for your fellow man becomes a reality predicated on your Love for God: your desire to Please Him and Thank Him for loving you.
The 10 commandments can be summarized in Love. The first four commandments can be defined as the Love of God. The last six describe how to love man. Today we need to practice our Love for God. You love Him; You love Him honestly and truthfully. You boldly proclaim – Love Him. How do you know you love God?
John testified to God in the Bible, John 14:15, that God himself said – “If you love me, keep my commands.” i.e. you will obey me.
The biggest FACTOR in loving God is that you follow God’s command. All the gurus of the world, all the preachers will say to you, “Love God, but how to love God, what is the way to talk to God, no one will tell you this because they themselves do not know. There is a need to know what is the biggest FACTOR to love. The first and foremost commandment is to love God.
Loving God is not about knowing prophecy: knowing scripture with each verse, sloka, sutra, and surah. Loving God is bigger. Loving God is answering the question Do You Love God?
If your eyes can capture God’s face; and your mind & soul allow you to meet Him; loving God with all our heart, mind and soul meeting Him at the core of your heart; then you will know He is at your side. He will become your ‘heart beat’ during prayer and meditation. Yours eyes will slowly capture God’s face. In the Kalki Purana, there is a very famous puja (ceremony of worship) revealed by Padma – future wife to Lord Kalki. The desirability of envisioning the Supreme Lord is described as follows.
Shuka learned from Padma the Lord’s Puja, or the ceremonial worship and meditation on God, as told by Shiva. “In order to get rid of the bird-body”, Padma said to Shuka, “Lord has to be meditated upon thus : First think of His feet, then knees, thighs, waist, navel, breast, neck, two right hands, two left hands, face, eyes, ears, forehead, hairs and last l the entire’ form, from the feet up to the head.” Every Ishtadeva must be meditated upon as made of divine life, as if the effulgence of Brahman is condensed into that form. Gradually the form of Istadeva will melt into the formless Brahman. Thus Sakara Upasana ends in Nirakar Sadhana.
Ishta devata comes from the Sanskrit, ishta, meaning “desired,” “cherished” or “preferred”; and devata, meaning “godhead” or “divinity.” It translates as “cherished divinity.”
All your relationships are secondary to God. All your desires should be placed before God.
God loved you first even when you were a sinner and in love, He thought to give you ‘His Spirit of Love’ to be experienced – able to liberate you from selfishness. There are many people in the world who want to love God but they do not know how to have this relationship.
To have all your activities for God without greed is to love God. As you experience God’s special Love for you, the purity of that love reaches out to the hand of our brethren.
The essence of God is love; When you love each other, you are fulfilling God’s most fundamental wish for your life. It is love because God loved you before you were born, and the proof is the life of your savior who has come to free you from the bondage of sin. Therefore, you should love your God with all your heart and with your soul and with your whole mind. I am speaking the truth, whoever lives by these two commands of God and keeps them, is someone who loves God.
